How product prices per unit and quantity discounts can be set in Odoo.
Odoo offers the possibilities to set your product prices with quantity discounts.
Unit prices
Odoo offers several options to set and adjust your sales price per unit depending on the customer and/or the period for (temporary) promotions.
The sales price per unit can be set in different ways:
- as a fixed sales price
- as a fixed sales price for specific customers(groups)
- as a calculated sales price based on other prices

A fixed sales price is not automatically adjusted when, for example, your purchase price changes.
A calculated sales price is automatically adjusted when the basis on which the calculation is made changes.
Fixed sales price
A fixed product selling price is set in Sales ‣ Products ‣ Products, select a product or click New, ‣ General information.
- Sales price: fill in the price and select the unit
The base sales price set here is used if one or more of the following conditions are met:
shown to visitors of the webshop:
as long as no price list for the webshop is set;
as long as the visitor is not logged in;
as long as a logged-in visitor has not been assigned a price list by an administrative user;
used in the checkout:
as long as no default price list for the checkout is set;
as long as no price list is selected in the checkout;
as long as a selected customer has not been assigned a price list by an administrative user;
used in quotes:
- when no price list is selected;
- when the selected customer has not been assigned a price list by an administrative user;
Fixed sales price for specific customers(groups)
If you want to set a fixed product selling price for a specific customer group or customer, you can add it in Sales ‣ Products ‣ Products, select a product or click New, ‣ Prices.
Click Add a price
Price list: select a price list
Min quantity: enter '0.00' or '1.00'
Price: enter the price
Calculated selling price based on other prices
If you want to set a product selling price for a specific customer group or customer as a discount or formula based on another price or price list, you can add it to a price list in Sales ‣ Products ‣ Price lists, select a price list or click New, ‣ Rules.
Click 'Add Rule'
Apply to: check 'Product'
Min quantity: enter '0.00' or '1.00'
Product: select a product
Valid until: select a start date/time, and optionally an end date/time
Price type: check a price type:
Discount
Discount: enter the discount percentage
on: select a price list or leave blank to apply the discount to the selling price
Formula
Base price: select a base price for the formula:
'Selling price'
Discount: enter the discount percentage
Round to: enter a rounding amount
Price surcharge: enter a surcharge amount
'Cost price'
Format: enter the margin percentage
Round to: enter a rounding amount
Price surcharge: enter a surcharge amount
'Other price list'
Other price list: select another price list
Discount: enter the discount percentage
Round to: enter a rounding amount
Price surcharge: enter a surcharge amount
EXAMPLE
To make a price end in ,99 set Round to to 1.00 and Price surcharge at -0.01.
'Fixed price'
- Fixed price: enter a fixed price

This is the same as if you were to set a fixed selling price for specific customers(groups) in Sales ‣ Products ‣ Products, select a product or click New, ‣ Prices, except that you can also set a validity period for the price here.
- Fixed price: enter a fixed price
Quantity prices
Hoeveelheidsprijzen kunnen op verschillende manieren worden ingesteld afhankelijk van het product:
- Products that are sold only in multiple packaging;
- Products with a fixed price for volume discount;
- Products with volume discount based on other prices;
Packages are set in Sales ‣ Configuration ‣ Units & Packages.
Products that are only sold in multiple packaging
In Verkoop ‣ Producten ‣ Producten, selecteer een product of klik Nieuw, ‣ Algemene informatie
- Selling price: enter the price for the smallest packaging and select the packaging
Products with fixed price for volume discount
In Verkoop ‣ Producten ‣ Producten, selecteer een product of klik Nieuw, ‣ Prijzen
Click Add a price
Price list: select a price list
Min quantity: enter the minimum quantity for the price
Price: enter the price per unit
Products with volume discount based on other prices
